The EUT program at CGCC was enhanced as part of the Arizona Sun Corridor - Get Into Energy Consortium project in 2012-2016. Program curriculum was vetted and approved by energy employers and is endorsed by the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD). The EUT program prepares students for the position of an apprentice-level lineworker, familiar with the use of tools, materials and the equipment of the electric utility industry. Students train in power line installation and maintenance, pole climbing, use of tools, truck and equipment operation, and overhead and underground distribution, construction and maintenance of electrical lines.
Students interested in the EUT program at CGCC must pass a physical examination and complete the application process. In addition, students must obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and a First Aid Certificate in order to receive their CCL or AAS degree.
Program Prerequisites: Students should refer to the course catalog for prerequisite information and must pass a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) physical examination.
