 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)

Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) is proud to launch the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program. CGCC is one of the few community colleges to offer UAS FAA Part 107 Certification prep courses, as well as a certificate and associate degree. The UAS program serves to provide students with career training education and preparation for a growing, innovative industry. According to the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the rate of growth for UAS jobs is projected at 100,000 by 2025. AUVSI forecasts that Arizona is expected to have over 4,000 jobs (i.e. engineering, data collection, analysis, security) by 2025. We’re proud to invest in educating and equipping the next generation of the UAS workforce to meet the demands of Arizona’s industries.

Program Offerings

The UAS program was developed to empower students interested in “drone” technology. Whether you are a hobbyist or interested in a new career field, there are academic paths created for you to choose. Options include FAA Part 107 prep by taking courses UAS101 (Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operation) and UAS107 (Unmanned Aircraft Systems Certification), completing your Associate in Applied Science in Unmanned Aircraft Systems and continuing with your bachelor’s degree at one of our University partnerships. Regardless of your academic and career goals, you will gain valuable knowledge and rich program content by diving into UAS history, avionics, sensors, communication systems, data analysis, industry applications and more.
