Permission to be Photographed/Video:
I authorize the Maricopa Community Colleges (including its colleges and related entities) to photograph/video me and to use the photographs/videos for educational or promotional purposes in any type of media. The photographs/videos may not be used for profit without my express permission. I understand that I will not be paid or rewarded for providing this authorization.
By selecting the "Yes" button, you are acknowledging you have read and understand that you might be and agree to be photographed and or video recorded.

Terms and Conditions:
Poetry Slam Rules: Write and complete your own original poems. Topic content is open. Remember the purpose of the poetry slam is to express. Poems should be no more than three minutes long. Poems over three minutes and ten seconds will have a point deduction of 0.5. Each poet should bring a second poem that will be read in the event of a tie.
In addition:
  • Avoid using props of any kind. 
  • Avoid using costumes of any kind. 
  • Avoid writing poetry addressed to people attending the poetry slam.
  • No personal attack poetry. 

Audience members are expected and encouraged to react to the poetry; however, these reactions must at all times be respectful. No rude behavior will be tolerated. 
There are no language restrictions; however, language considered foul or other “curse words” should only be used to further the meaning of the poetry. No gratuitous foul language please.
