Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGC) offers Testing Services at two locations, the Pecos Campus and the Williams Campus.  Both locations provide course placement testing and academic testing to assist students as they pursue their career, education and personal goals. Testing Center adheres to the National College Testing Association's Professional Standards and Guidelines.

Effective March 5, 2018 all ten Maricopa Community Colleges transitioned to the new version of the placement test called Next-Generation. For additional information regarding the exam please visit CollegeBoard ACCUPLACER web site.

Using the Testing Center:
  • All services require a current, valid photo ID, and a Chandler-Gilbert Community College student ID number.
  • Phones must be powered off.
  • All personal belonging (i.e. watch, cell phone, hats, drinks, food, sunglasses, keys, etc.) must be secured in a locker prior to taking an exam.
  • No children allowed: Per MCCCD Administrative Regulation 2.4.10 Children on Campus: Children (younger than 18) may not attend any class unless they are officially registered for class. Children will not be allowed on campus unless participating in an authorized college program or under the supervision of an adult. Children will not be allowed in the testing rooms. 
Request for Official Test Scores:
To request official test scores to be sent to an Educational Institution, please complete the following:

Please allow 48 business hours for requests to be processed.

Students who completed a test for a non-Maricopa institution must pay a $25.00 proctoring fee on the day of service. Students must have paid the $25.00 proctoring fee prior to requesting the official scores be sent to an institution not in the Maricopa system.

Testing Regulations

All testers ARE REQUIRED to present a valid and current picture identification before testing.
(This includes students under the age of 18).

The ID presented must be original, not a photocopy or reproduction.

Testing Regulations

  • Students who need special testing accommodations must be registered with the CGCC Disability Resources Office and must schedule an appointment for testing by calling 480-732-7159

  • FREE lockers are provided for your items at the Pecos and Williams Campus Testing Center (no personal or electronic devices of any kind are permitted in the testing rooms)
  • Only students who are testing and proctors are permitted in the Pecos and Williams Campus Testing Center.  Children are not allowed in the testing center and children 18 years old and younger cannot be left unattended. (AR 2.4.10)
  • Academic Misconduct - Students must adhere to MCCCD Academic Misconduct (AR 2.3.11) regulations that prohibit cheating
  • Cheating includes, but is not limited to, the use of unauthorized assistance in taking tests.  If you are suspected of Academic Misconduct your exam may be voided.  The matter will be referred to the instructor and faculty division chair for further review and, if applicable, disciplinary action.
  • No hats or similar head pieces, unless for religious reasons.
  • No calculator covers.
  • No watches or smart watches.
  • No personal electronics (laptops, tablets, etc.).
  • No cell phones.
  • No Google glasses or similar devises, no exceptions.
  • No food or liquids.

Placement Testing

Once you have completed your CGCC Admissions Steps, review the placement options to determine the next step in your educational journey. Placement with a Placement Test will determine your skill level in English, Reading and Math. The Placement Test results allow you and your academic advisor to determine which courses are best for you as you begin your education at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC).  Follow these 3 steps to complete the Placement Test:

Note:  There is no cost for the placement test and services if you intend to enroll at one of the ten Maricopa Community Colleges.  Free Lockers are provided for personal items.

Step 3:  For the Placement Test choose the location of your choice:

Maricopa Community College retest policy: Students will be permitted one retest in English (WritePlacer), reading, or math level after at least a 24-hour waiting period. One additional retest is permitted no sooner than three months from the oldest valid score date at any course placement testing site. Course placement scores, with the exception of the reading exemption scores, will be valid for two years from the date of the original or retest assessment.

Request for Official Test Scores

To request official test scores to be sent to an Educational Institution, please complete the following: 

  1. Request for Official Test Score Form CGC Request for Official Test Scores Form
    1. Include a copy of your current picture I.D.
    2. Picture and personal information must be clearly visible to process the request.

Information for Students

Students who have completed an approved placement exam (ACCUPLACER WritePlacer (English), reading & math section) at another institution must have the official test scores sent from that institutions Testing Center in order for them to be input into their student record.

Williams Campus Testing Services include placement testing as well as instructional exams.

Pecos Campus Testing last check-in times

Placement Testing Walk-in Hours (ACCUPLACER)
  • Allow 3 - 4 hours for completion of all subject areas.
  • Allow one hour per assessment for completion of one subject.
  • All exams are stopped 15 minutes before closing.
  • 8-digit Maricopa Student ID number is required for testing.
  • All testers are required to present a current picture I.D. (This includes students under the age of 18).
  • Students taking the placement for a non-Maricopa college will be charge a proctoring fee of $25.00.
  • First come, first serve. Please plan accordingly.
  • Last check-in times will vary based on the number of sections being completed.
 

 
Instructional Testing Hours
 
Online/Hybrid/Make-up Classroom Exams
  • Students must know their instructor's name, course and exam.
  • Students must arrive at the Testing Center with adequate time to complete the exam (per instructor's guidelines).
  • All testers are required to present a current picture I.D. (This includes students under the age of 18).
  • 8-digit Maricopa Student ID number is required for testing.
  • Instructional exams (class exam) if appropriate, student are responsible for providing their own testing supplies (scantrons, calculators, pencils, etc.).
  • First come, first serve. Please plan accordingly.
  • Last check-in is 1 hour prior to closing.
  • All exams are collected 15 minutes before closing.

 

 


 

 

HESI-A2 (Nursing Entrance Exam) Testing Hours (Pecos Campus Only)

  • Students must arrive at the Testing Center with adequate time to complete the exam.
  • Cost: $40.00 NO REFUNDS and cost is subject to change.
  • Students testing for a school outside the Maricopa Community College District must also pay a $25.00 proctoring Fee and schedule an appointment. Please ask the proctor about additional fees before you test.
  • All testers are required to present a current picture I.D. (This includes students under the age of 18).
  • 8-digit Maricopa Student ID number is required for testing.
  • HESI-A2 is a 4 hour exam, please plan accordingly.
  • First come, first serve. Please plan accordingly.
Note: HESI-A2 will not be available during the following time periods:
  • The week before classes begin and the first week of classes each semester.
  • The week before finals and finals week of each semester.
