The Chandler-Gilbert Women’s Basketball team will travel to top seed Pima Community College Tuesday night. After winning last Tuesday against Tohono O’odham, the Coyotes clinched a spot in the playoffs for the first time five years. This year, the Coyotes finished 16-14 (10-12 ACCAC) which was a year “Firsts, since…” The 2018-2019 Coyotes posted their first winning season since 2009, first national ranking since 2010, and first playoff berth since 2014. There was also an 11-game improvement in Total Wins and a 13-game improvement in ACCAC play.
The team was lead by Kristen Quigley, a sophomore guard who was named to the All-ACCAC 2nd Team and Division II All-Region 1st Team. Also scoring for the Coyotes were a pair of freshmen, Isela Enriquez (10.8 PPG | 4.4 RPG | 2.3 APG) and MiKaila Kayaani-Lee (10.3 PPG | 5.3 RPG | 2.6 APG), along with a pair of sophomores, Hope Frazier (8.1 PPG | 6.9 RPG) and Jasmine Reupenny (7.0 PPG | 3.5 RPG).
In the final game of the regular season, Reupenny lead the team with 25 points and six rebounds.
