Required Courses Filling Up Fast - Register Now for Spring Semester

Spring classes at Chandler-Gilbert Community College begin on Monday, January 17, and college officials are advising students to register prior to the holidays in order to beat the last minute January rush.

“Required courses such as math, science, and English are filling up fast, so we urge students to register prior to December 24 to get the classes they need and to avoid long enrollment wait times in January,” said Ryan Cain, coordinator of CGCC Enrollment Services. “Our academic advisors are available to help students create a plan to reach both their educational and career goals.”

In addition to a variety of morning, afternoon, evening, and Saturday classes, CGCC offers eLearning for students unable to attend classes on campus. Formats include distance learning, in which students can take CGCC classes from the comfort of their own home through their personal computer; hybrid format classes, in which a portion of the class is taught face-to-face on campus and the other portion takes place online; and self-paced classes in which students can complete course work at home on their personal computer or in the CGCC Computer Lab at their own pace.

CGCC Students Give Back this Holiday Season

This holiday season, Chandler-Gilbert Community College students are giving back in an effort to help fellow students and community members in need have a more enjoyable holiday season.

CGCC students and staff are contributing in a variety of ways, including holding a canned food drive, as well as the college’s annual Adopt-a-Family program.

The student HELP Club (Hands Enriching Life Program) hosted a canned food drive, which will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank.

CGCC’s Office of Student Life and Leadership hosted the Adopt-A-Family program, which benefits students and their families who are in need.

“The purpose of Adopt-a-Family is to lend support to these students, encourage them to continue in college despite their difficult situation, and to bring some holiday spirit into their homes,” said Mike Greene, CGCC Director of Student Life.

With the goal of assisting 11 families this year, students set up Angel Trees around the college’s Pecos and Williams campuses.  Gifts purchased were delivered to adopted families in time for Christmas.
