The One World Committee initiates and promotes programs, activities and services designed to transcend cultural boundaries in order to assist our students, staff, faculty and community in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and willingness to participate in a diverse and multicultural world. Our purpose is to proactively engage our campus community through civic and social stimulating learning opportunities. With every event we host we seek to educate, inform and challenge, with student engagement being our central focus. Our goal is a transformative experience.

One World Committee will be focusing on suicide awareness and prevention this year. Our committee will be partnering alongside other departments and groups one campus to help promote awareness and prevention. With this theme in mind our mission is to help break the silence on suicide, as none of us are excluded from it. We want to raise awareness, foster dialogue, provide support, and other resources to assist in suicide prevention.

As a committee our goal is to be an agent of transformation. Since our inception we’ve brought forth a number of transformative experiences to our campus community such as Tunnel of Oppression and Human Library. Understanding the value of life; we purposely promote events that will inspire growth and change, especially for our students. Our events have been enriching and life changing for many. Our hope is that our students, along with the greater campus community will continue to be challenged and changed as a result of our work.

This year, we want to inspire the overcomer and survivor in you.
