Not A Model Minority: Challenging Harmful Stereotypes of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) are the fastest growing ethnic minority population in Arizona, but often receive little attention due to the "model minority myth." In this session, we'll discuss the diversity and history of the AAPI population in Arizona, the different stereotypes and anti-Asian racism often affecting AAPI communities and ways of supporting AAPI students.
