CRRSAA Act Disbursements - Spring 2021

CRRSAA Act

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) is part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) 2021, recently passed by Congress. Chandler-Gilbert Community College received funds to support students through this challenging time.

Just like the stimulus payments that many of you may have received in the past year the eligibility requirements for HEERF II have shifted from the last disbursement of CARES Act funds. That may mean that students who received CARES ACT funds in 2020 from CGCC are no longer eligible.

HEERF II grants will be automatically distributed to eligible students (no application). Student grants can be used to cover expenses related to the pandemic, such as food, health care (including mental), technology, course materials, and child-care expenses. If you qualify, you will receive a CRRSAA grant posted to the refund method listed in your Student Center. Please monitor your Maricopa student email for updates.

For the automatic distribution, each recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a completed and accepted 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the Financial Aid Office as of April 6, 2021.
  • Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Must have an expected family contribution (EFC) between 0 and 9999
  • Must be currently attending classes in a degree or certificate program at CGCC during the Spring 2021 semester
  • Students must be enrolled in at least three credit hours at CGCC during the Spring 2021 semester as of April 6, 2021, take the majority of their courses at CGCC and meet other eligibility criteria.
