Applying for Financial Aid

Applying for Financial Aid

Once you’ve decided to seek financial assistance to fund all or part of your college education, you’ll need to apply for financial aid. The process can seem daunting, but there are really just five steps to follow. And we’ll walk you through it. Start here.

Applying for Financial Aid

If you’re a new student, apply for admission to Chandler-Gilbert Community College, and activate your Maricopa student email. This email account will be used to notify you of any updates to your financial aid status. Make sure your contact information is current throughout your time here.

First, create a user ID at FSA ID. If you are under 24 years old, at least one of your parents will need to create their own user ID as well. Once your FSA ID is created, you can fill out the application. When filling out your FAFSA, you’ll need to list a school code. CGCC’s school code is 030722.

Monitor your Task Tile in your Student Center.
Once you’ve completed your application, it’s important to monitor your Task Tile and your Maricopa student email account, as the CGCC Financial Aid Office may request additional information to complete your file.

When your application has been approved, you will be notified via your Student Center account of the financial aid award you qualified for. From there, you’ll have the ability to accept, decline, or reduce the award(s) in your aid package.

To remain eligible for federal financial aid, you must maintain a Satisfactory Academic Progress which measures your GPA and completion rate of your coursework.
