Dr. Greg Peterson Elected to Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities Governing Board

Chandler-Gilbert Community College is honored to announce that President Dr. Greg Peterson has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ (HACU) Governing Board. During HACU’s 34th Annual Conference, held virtually, the HACU Governing Board formalized and the membership ratified Dr. Peterson’s appointment, effective October 27, 2020. 

“The Maricopa Community Colleges are thrilled to have Dr. Peterson represent MCCCD alongside board members from across the nation,” said MCCCD Interim Chancellor, Dr. Steven R. Gonzales. “Dr. Peterson’s passionate commitment to the community college system and its mission of access and success for all students makes him an excellent addition to the board, and will allow us to better serve our diverse student population.” 

Established in 1986, HACU represents more than 500 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success globally. HACU champions success by promoting the development of member colleges and universities; improving access to and the quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students; and meeting the needs of business, industry and government through the development and sharing of resources, information and expertise.

As a member of the HACU Governing Board, Dr. Peterson will contribute his insights and leadership in Hispanic higher education and will be invaluable to HACU’s Governing Board, membership, and staff in the advancement of the association’s mission.
