The Salt River

Are you looking for something fun to do this summer? Check out some of these free and low-cost activities around the Phoenix area!

 

Culture Pass

Act One partners with over 150 libraries statewide to allow library cardholders the opportunity to check out free Culture Passes. A Culture Pass provides free admission for two people to a variety of attractions around Arizona, including the Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix Art Museum and Heard Museum. Salt River Tubing

Beat the heat by tubing down the Salt River, just a short 30-minute drive from our Pecos Campus. Lather up the sunscreen and pack some drinks and snacks for a unique adventure through the picturesque Tonto National Forest. Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball

Our D-backs are off to a great start this season and currently sit atop the NL West standings! Watch rookie sensation Corbin Carroll and cheer on the team in air-conditioned Chase Field in Downtown Phoenix. Register for the D-backs Student Pass to get last-minute deals to games, typically on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Public Pools

Dive into summer at one of the many public pools in Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa. These pools offer a variety of activities from lap swimming to water slides to lazy rivers. You can even try surfing at the Rhodes Aquatic Complex in Mesa!

First Fridays

Take a stroll along Roosevelt Row and Grand Ave in Downtown Phoenix on July 7 or August 4 for First Fridays. Browse works for sale by local artists and stop into the galleries that line both streets. The Phoenix Art Museum, Heard Museum, Children’s Museum of Phoenix and Japanese Friendship Garden also offer free admission on First Fridays.
