REACH scholarship

In the beginning of 2023, Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) announced its collaboration with the National Science Foundation (NSF), supporting students pursuing their Associate’s Degree Program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The purpose of Reaching Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Career Heights (REACH) Grant aligns with CGCC's mission to help its students successfully complete their degree and transfer to a four-year-institution. This grant is directed towards students pursuing Associates in Science with an Emphasis in Engineering, Associate of Applied Sciences in Engineering Technology, and Associates of Applied Sciences in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. With the aid of CGCC's engineering, mathematics, chemistry, and artificial intelligence and machine learning faculty, industry partners, and the REACH scholarship, students are geared up not only for success during their academic journey but also for post-graduation endeavors.

The REACH scholarship program welcomed its second cohort of scholars in spring of 2024. CGCC is excited to announce that the application process for the third cohort is now underway, extending to March 31, 2024. Students aspiring to pursue their associate’s degree in engineering and artificial intelligence/machine learning this coming fall 2024 semester are greatly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their college experience through the mentorship, financial scholarship, and professional activities provided by REACH.

The REACH Grant delivers a comprehensive package for its recipients. Successful applicants are awarded with scholarships of up to $5,000 per semester, renewable for up to four semesters. In addition, personalized academic mentorship will be extended to guide and nurture students' growth.

CGCC's industry partners recognize the potential of the participating students, and are actively contributing to their holistic development. The REACH recipients will be offered with an array of professional activities designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and on-the-job skills such as tours of facilities, talks by professional guest speakers, professional workshops, and internship opportunities.

For those interested to find out more about the REACH Grant, further information and application details can be found at https://www.cgc.edu/admissions/financial-aid/scholarships/reach. The application window for the second cohort is open, and prospective students are encouraged to submit their applications before March 31, 2024.
