Maria Amador

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we also applaud seven highly deserving nominees for the CGCC 2024 Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) Award of Excellence. This award celebrates the diversity, equity, and inclusion works of the CGCC community, and the nominees all do their part to support the success of all CGCC Coyotes. Nominations for 2024 are Kelsy Martinez, Ashley Bouknight, Destination College Team, Tricia Sofia Alpizar Castillo, Maria Amador, Pattiann deGrasse, and the Resource Management Team.

This year’s recipient is Maria Amador, Senior Student Services Specialist working with Multi-Cultural & Co-Curricular Programs in Student Life and Leadership. Maria was nominated by three outstanding women at CGCC: faculty members Dr. Renee Rude and Dr. Tricia Sindel-Arrington; and Cheryl Hernandez, Director of Disability Resources. Maria's nominators call her a “Superwoman,” highlighting the large number of events that Maria helps to bring to our community as well as the diversity of both the types of events and populations served. She is known to go above and beyond—dedicated to ensuring that meaningful opportunities are available to all Coyotes, regardless of modality and accessibility needs.
