The Chandler-Gilbert Community College Men's Basketball team is looking to clinch a spot in the Region 1 Division II playoffs as the number one seed and will be hosting the 4th seed—who is still to be determined—on Thursday, March 7, on their home turf.
The Coyotes are seeking their first Region championship since 2002. Led by Head Coach Steve Silsby, who’s in his tenth year at CGCC, the team has set a new program record for wins in a season with 25 victories, and more games still to play.
The team hangs their hat on their tough defense as they have only allowed 65 points per game.
Offensively, their balanced attack has them scoring an efficient 85.9 points per game. Andre Harris leads the Yotes in scoring with his 19.6 points per game, as well as a strong 8 rebounds per game. He has won the conference Player of the Week five times. Justin Fisher and Marlon Landingham are also powerful contributors with double digit scoring averages of 10 points per game.
At time of publication, the Coyotes only three losses have come on the road against ranked opponents.
