CGCC Spanish Program
Our mission is to provide college students and other members of the community with a foundation in the study of culture, language, and linguistic structures of the Spanish language. to communicate in a language other than English by being able to understand, speak, read, and write in this language. It is also to teach them the cultural aspects of the countries where the target language is spoken including their geography, their history, their customs and traditions, and their literature. Mastery of the language will enable the students to achieve personal, educational, and professional goals.
Goals
- Provide students with a wide variety of tools to develop oral and written communication skills in Spanish.
- Create a natural and real-life environment in the classroom through active learning and project-based activities.
- Enforce each of the four learning skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
- Follow an instruction mode with a communicative approach in mind.
