What is Dual Enrollment?

By providing the opportunity to earn both college and high school credit for the same classes, Dual Enrollment can help you make the most of your time in high school.

What is Dual Enrollment?

Students who participate in Dual Enrollment earn both high school and college credit for completing the same class. Instructors who teach Dual Enrollment credit-eligible courses are qualified to teach their subject at a collegiate level.

Chandler-Gilbert Community College credits earned may be applied toward both high school and college graduation requirements.

Dual Enrollment students begin to build a record of higher education attainment before even graduating from high school. Completion of Dual Enrollment credit courses is documented with an official college transcript from the Maricopa County Community College District.

Dual Enrollment classes are affordable, with low community-college tuition rates. If you qualify based on financial need, you may receive tuition assistance.

Students pay only tuition and a registration fee. Tuition for Dual Enrollment courses is the same cost as all classes at Maricopa Community Colleges, which is significantly less than for the typical four-year college or university.

Many of the most popular Dual Enrollment courses satisfy prerequisites and general educational requirements at four-year colleges and universities, like ASU, NAU and UofA. Students who successfully complete these courses can free up time in their college schedules for electives or their major-specific coursework.
