Applying for Financial Aid

Applying for Financial Aid

Once you’ve decided to seek financial assistance to fund all or part of your college education, you’ll need to apply for financial aid. The process can seem daunting, but there are really just five steps to follow. And we’ll walk you through it. Start here.

Applying for Financial Aid

If you’re a new student, apply for admission to Chandler-Gilbert Community College, and activate your Maricopa student email. This email account will be used to notify you of any updates to your financial aid status. Make sure your contact information is current throughout your time here.

First, create a user ID at FSA ID. Then, fill out the application. When filling out your FAFSA, you’ll need to list a school code. CGCC’s school code is 030722. You can search for another school’s code with the Federal School Code Search tool.;

Once you’ve completed your application, it’s important to monitor your Student Center account and your Maricopa student email account, as the CGCC Financial Aid Office may request additional information to complete your file.

When your application has been approved, you will be notified via your Student Center account of the financial aid award you qualified for. From there, you’ll have the ability to accept, decline, or reduce the award(s) in your aid package.

To remain eligible for federal financial aid, you must maintain a minimum GPA and complete coursework in the allowable time frame. If you fail to meet these standards but wish to continue receiving financial aid, complete the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal or the Maximum Time Frame Appeal.
