Important Financial Aid Dates

Applying for financial aid? Below are the dates you’ll need to know. If you don’t meet the deadlines, that may result in you having to pay your tuition and fees out of pocket.


Note: These dates apply to full-term-length classes only. If you have registered for classes that are shorter or late-starting, your dates may be different. Contact the Financial Aid office with questions, and please plan accordingly.


Spring 2020

Get off to a great start on your first day of classes!

Jan. 15, 2020

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Maximum Timeframe Appeals are due if you need to request to have your financial aid eligibility back.

Jan. 21, 2020

If you’re taking courses at two schools and need to ensure you receive the financial aid you’re eligible for, submit your Consortium Agreement on time. Need help? Contact your academic advisor.

Jan. 21, 2020

You must have registered for all classes and have been awarded financial aid by this date at 5 p.m. in order for your Pell Grant to be calculated. You will not be awarded Pell Grant funds for classes you register for after this date.   

Week of Jan. 24, 2020

The first round of financial aid disbursement begins this week. Be sure to check your email for a notification from Money Network regarding your funds and how to access them.

Work with your academic advisor to complete and submit your Academic Plan.

Jan. 29, 2020

Complete your Restricted Course List (RCL) with the courses needed to maintain or reinstate your financial aid eligibility. If you’ve changed your degree or certificate program, be sure to submit an Academic Plan Addendum.

Week of Feb. 11, 2020

If you applied for a first-time, first-year, 30-day-delay loan, this is the estimated date when the previous term’s loan will be applied toward paying your fees for the current term. CGCC will also process any refunds by this date.

Some grant funds are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. File your FAFSA by July 1 for the best chance to receive additional grant funding!

August 11, 2020

Book Advance starts. If you’re receiving Federal Pell Grant funds in excess of your tuition and fees, you can receive some of your expected refund before classes begin. You can use this money to help pay for books.
